An adjective is a word which is used to qualify a noun or a pronoun.

Eg. Big building, tall man, fat boy, etc.

Kinds of adjective:

1. Adjective of quality: Eg: Good, wise, tall, beautiful, intelligent, etc.

2. Adjective of quantity: Eg: Some, much, all etc.

Structure: Some, much, all+uncountable noun.

3. Adjective of number: Eg: One, two, three, first, second, etc.

The number can be divided into to parts:

i. Definite number: One, two, first etc.

Eg: I saw two joker there.

I am the first student to participate in this competition. 

Structure: One, two, first + countable nouns.

ii. Indefinite number: Eg: Some, many, few, all, etc.

Some students are playing.

Structure: Some, many, few + countable noun.

1. Demonstrative adjective: Eg: This, that, these, those, etc.

This book is mine: Demonstrative Adjective

But This is my book: Demonstrative Pronoun.

Structure: This, that, these, those + noun.

2. Possessive adjective: Eg: His house, my book, your friend, etc.

Structure: Possessive adjective + noun.

Eg: My pen has lost.

3. Distributive adjective: Eg: Each, either, neither, etc.

Structure: Each, either, neither + noun/pronoun.

Eg: Each student was punished.

Either of them has come.

4. Interrogative adjective: Eg: Wh words: Which, what, whose, etc.

Structure: Wh words + noun.

Eg: Whose pen is this?

Which book do you prefer?
