Open the man page of scanf() it says
int scanf(const char *format, ...);
so what does that mean ? That means first argument of scanf() is of type char*.
And you have provided "%d" and "%d" expects argument nof int type.
In short %d in scanf will scan the integer value from user and store into variable.
