Ayanti Bera

I’m current working with an NGO, Teach For India, and I’m placed in a government school in Bangalore where I teach English and Maths in a Grade 5 classroom. Prior to this, I have worked as a Financial Journalist with Reuters News for nearly two years. I have a BSc. degree in Mass Communication and Videography from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and a post graduate degree in Journalism from Indian Institute of Journalism and New Media in Bengaluru. I’ve extensive experience in writing and communication in English and Bengali, my native tongue. At Teach For India, I’m also trained in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and can provide SEL classes for elementary and middle school students as well. I’m skilled at building a strong relationship of trust with the students and their families and can leverage that to build a safe space in my classroom where each child would be excited and eager to learn.
