I was born into a musiccal family in Kolkata and was drawn to vocal music by my father and first guru Pt. Dhrubojyoti at a very young age. I continued my learning for over two decades under the tutelage of eminent music teachers like Ubaya Gana Vidushi Shayamala G Bhave (Bangalore), Pt. Rajesh Mishra (Kolkata). I have completed my formal music education with triple gold medals in Sangeet Pravakar and Sangeet Vibhakar from Prayag Sangeet Samiti (Allahabad) and Bangiya Sangeet Parishad (Kolkata). I am recipient of prestigious â??Young Artist Scholarshipâ?? from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. I was a graded artist in Kolkata Radio and have multiple appearances in Kolkata Doordarshan. I have 10 music and video CDs to my credit. I am teaching Hindustani vocal for last 14 years. I am also a designated examiner for Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mandal (Maharastra) and Bangiya Sangeet Parishad (Kolkata).
I head Bharatiya Sangeet Kalakshetram in Bangalore which is affiliated to Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mandal and Bangiya Sangeet Parishad. Till date, 500+ of my students have successfully passed music examination through the institute.
