Sri Ramu Kanagal’s teaching methodology is an effective blend of discipline and fun. First of all, he puts the students at ease so that they are eager to learn. To ensure that the students are not bored, he employs engaging tactics such as giving them nicknames, joking with them, and even imitating them! Classes are always lively, but the laughter is never targeted at anyone.
At the same time, teaching is very strict and no nonsense is tolerated. Correct posture and stance is integral to good performance and there is no compromise on this. Focus and dedication are paramount. Parents play a great role in shaping a child’s ability to handle passion and pressure. Divine art is not a hobby; we have to put our heart and soul into it. It is not advocated to enroll a child in multiple classes just to “fill the time”. Dedication to a particular art, balanced with academics, is fruitful and rewarding for the child.
There is no favouritism and absolutely no politics. A gradual climb towards excellence is practised. Excellence takes time, and it follows different paths for different individuals. This is understood at our institute and we give each student a chance to blossom in their own unique way.
