Having recently graduated with a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, I understand the importance of a well-structured, high quality teaching system. I am enthusiastic about the role I play in delivering such training. Unfortunately, many elements of our school education systems emphasize methods like rote learning and cramming. This not only limits the student's understanding of the subject, but also tends to drive away authentic interest in the subject. I hope to help my students realize how exciting the wondrous world of psychology can be. I believe that one of the best aspects of subjects such as psychology and literature is their direct relation to human life and experience. My teaching style emphasizes drawing connections between theories and text to real life. I have also engaged in a two year observership at the Department of Clinical Psychology, Kasturba Medical College Hospital, Manipal. This has given me great insight into psychological assessments, abnormal psychology and clinical psychology, for students who may be interested in these. I have also completed many research projects and would be more than willing to help the student with research work, should they need such help.

To take my interest as an educator one step further, I recently wrote the UGC-NET Psychology exam, which is the qualifying exam for Assistant Professorship. I passed the exam qualifying for both Assistant Professorship as well as a Junior Research Fellowship.

I have also completed a Minor degree in English Literature. It is a subject that has always come naturally to me and one that I am very passionate about. I'd love to spend time with you gaining insight into the context, meaning and influence of literary works and help you shake away those Shakespeare blues.

I am flexible with my timings and happy to help clarify doubts as and when they pop up. I also often prepare notes designed for the individual student's needs (however, I believe that the activity of making notes greatly aids the learning process and I encourage the student to engage in this.)
