Hi Shilpa Firstly dont worry! Kids are smart these days, and the school curriculum is made in a way to help kids cope up fast. Having said this, please note in North India Hindi definately is a notch higher than other states. Make sure she knows her alphabets in Hindi well - the entire Swar and Vyanjan. The... ...more

The matras - now for her to recognise the matras please get her to hear the sound of the matras, e.g., "Badi i " make sure you say "iii" and for "Choti i" pronounce it as "i" so this way she will know which direction should the matras be put.

Do some basic dictation for words from her 1st Std book if you already have them. Some reading daily for at least 10-15 mins, from her textbook or any other text. Moreover, support and motivate the child, she can do it!
