I taught English to secondary classes from 2001-2012 as a KV teacher after which I joined the Azim Premji Foundation as a teacher educator and worked with teachers of English, teaching across the grades. My experience at two different Kendriya Vidyalayas- one at Assam and other at Uttar Pradesh- helped me grow into a competent English teacher but my experiences at Azim Premji Foundation helped me acquire social and psychological lenses to look at teaching as a profession and thereby develop a sound understanding of the science and art of learning taking into consideration the specific context of the learners.

These skills are required in all subject areas and are the most important 21st century skills.
