There are many options to choose as a career after completion of 12th. Options after Class 12 are galore. But it is what students choose that stands that will make or break their career further. Career options for a Science stream pursuer:
The choice of subjects, be it Science or Arts, may vary between universities. For example, an economics degree may be given as a B.A. by one university, but as B.Sc. by another.

Numerous colleges offer specialisation in major subjects such as Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Geology, Physics etc. One can go further and opt for Masters Degree (M.Sc) in their selected subjects, after completion of graduation.
Courses in Medical Sciences: Various courses available for students opting for Medical Sciences are MBBS, BDS, BVS, B. Pharm, D Pharm and Nursing.
M.B.B.S (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery): It offers courses on Human anatomy. The duration of the course is approximately 5 ½ years which includes 1 year of internship.
Students can pursue Post Graduate specialisation in different subjects such as Cardiology, Anesthesiology, Surgery, Dermatology, ENT, Gynaecology, Neurons Sciences, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics and Pediatrics.

It integrates information technology for processing biological information such as nucleic acid (DNA/RNA), protein sequence and structure. The duration of the course is 4 years or else can also go for B.Sc Bioinformatics where the course duration is 3 years.
B.P.T (Bachelor in Physiotherapy): It basically studies how to restore the functioning of the body which is affected by due to illness like paralysis, injury, shock. The basic duration of the course is 3 years.
B.H.M.S ( Bachelor in Homeopathic Medicinal Sciences): It provides courses how to increase the self-healing power of our body by using medicine which is derived from natural and herbal sources. The duration of the course is 5 1/2 year.
B.A.M.S (Bachelor in Ayurveda Medicinal Sciences): It covers courses how to restore the balance of our body without side effects. The main focus of the courses is to regain balance of liver disorders, rheumatic and chronic conditions. The duration of the course is only 3 years.
Engineering as a career option:
Engineering has an ample number of career option. If anyone interested in pursuing his/her career in engineering then they have to pass out 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and with minimum qualifying marks.
There are numerous government and non-government institutes in India which offers courses in various branches of Engineering. Among various colleges, Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs) are the most favoured ones among the prospective students.
The seven IITs are viz, Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee. Apart from these, there are 20 National Institute of Technologies (NITs), a couple of IIITs and several private institutes in India which are able to offer a grand platform for making a good career.

JEE Mains:
JEE Main is National level entrance exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education after class XII for admission to Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs and centrally funded technical institutions like IIST, and is also the eligibility test for JEE Advanced. Earlier it was known as AIEEE.
JEE Advanced:
JEE (Advanced) is conducted by the IITs and only candidates who qualify the JEE Mains are admissible to take the test. Admission to the qualifying students is granted to all undergraduate Engineering and other science programs offered at 16 IITs in India and ISM Dhanbad. There are two papers of 3 hours each. The question papers will be bilingual (in English and Hindi). Each of the question papers will consist of three separate sections on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
BITSAT:
Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test is administered to Class XII students for admission to the engineering degree courses at the BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. BITSAT is the computer based online entrance exam for admission to BITS Pilani Engineering, Pharmacy, Information Systems and other courses. Notifications are out in the month of December and online tests are held in the month of May through June.
VITEEE:
Vellore Institute of Technology conducts the Engineering Entrance Test (VITEEE) for admission of students to its various B Tech Degree programs. Online applications are available from December and the test is held in March.

Architecture as a career option:
It is awarded for a course of study that lasts up to five years. In some cases, a B.Arch. can be undertaken after having completed a three-year generalised architectural degree plus an additional two years.
Architecture Entrance Tests:
1. NATA
National Aptitude Test in an architecture entrance exam for admission to B Arch courses in India in Government and Government aided and un-aided colleges of Architecture. NATA can be given at any designated test centres, at least 6 working days prior to the cut-off date for applying for the preferred colleges. NATA applications forms are available in the month of March and one can take the exam on any working day from March to Aug.
Medical Entrance Tests:
AIPMT:
The All India Pre Medical Test is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education for admission only for the 15 percent national quota in government medical/dental colleges all over India and for 100 percent seats in Delhi University, BHU, AFMC , Jamia Hamdard and for medical colleges in states of Chhatisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh.
Entrance Exam for AIIMS MBBS:
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) conducts an entrance exam after Class XII at National Level for admission to MBBS seats in AIIMS New Delhi and to the other six new AIIMS like institutions. AIIMS conducts entrance exam for 72 seats in the MBBS course in Delhi and 100 each in other AIIMS like institutions.
JIPMER MBBS Entrance Test:
The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) conducts an entrance exam for admission to MBBS course in its Institute. There are a total of 150 seats for admission into the same. Duration of the course is 4 years and 6 months as per the academic calendar of JIPMER followed by 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship.
Christian Medical College MBBS entrance exam:
The Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore and Ludhiana, conduct separate entrance test for admission to its MBBS, BDS and other medical courses.
AIPVT:
The All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is an entrance exam conducted after Class XII for admission to five years B. Vsc and AH courses in India. The exam is held to fill up 15 percent of a total number of seats in Government Veterinary colleges except in the state of Jammu & Kashmir.

After passing the higher secondary level examination a student can pursue Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) taking a special subject as the major subject.
