I am a fitness enthusiast & currently pursuing certification in Personal Training from Ace. Well I have been active in my school, I played cricket for almost 3-4 years professionaly. Those years developed a love for fitness. But after schooling , i got busy in studies, because of a sedentary lifestyle, poor eating habits, genetics , lack of nutrition knowledge, I always struggled to maintain a healthy weight. I often joined gym but dropped out after noticing no change in weight. I was so desperate to lose weight that I tried all the crash diets. But that never really worked in long time.. if I lost some water weight in those few days of dieting, felt really happy to see quick changes but gained almost double of that weight in following days. So I really gave up on the idea of losing weight. But in the pandemic, i got unemployed and my father's death struck me so hard. I got depressed, anxiety attacks, emotional eating , binge eating, hair fall, all of this contributed to excessive weight gain and my weight raised to 94 Kgs. I was totally broken, but at that stage the turning point came in my life. When I came to know about a cycling group. i start meditating and cycling. I started really enjoying cycling as an exercise, and also socializing with fellows . Though I knew nothing about nutrition and protein intake at that time. But cycling and meditation became a healing process for me. I enjoyed cycling so much it gave me a sense of satisfaction, that I am doing something for myself. And with meditation i was able to calm my mind and slowly the anxiety & negativity faded. I lost 22 kgs in next 6 months. I started from 10km cycling 6 days a week , but after 4 months of consistency, i was able to do 40-50kms of cycling 4 days a week and a century ride on weekend twice or thrice a month. Had no knowledge of nutrition. So I used to eat whatever I feel like . I was really happy after losing 22 kgs but my relatives often said.. what happen to you.. have you got any illness, you have got so weak. Is it jaundice ? Not looking good at all. As I lost all the muscle . Even after losing 22 kgs i was not shredded. Had Lil tummy though happy but not satisfied. But i got employed in Nawanshahr & it got really hard to spare time for cycling. Within few months i started gaining all the lost weight back. I was really upset . I felt like I am stuck in a trap. Lose - gain, lose - gain. Then one of my colleague told me to start reading about nutrition. Then I started studying on nutrition. I was really shocked to know that how nutrition is the base for healthy weight management , as we were always told .. do exercise, run daily and eat anything you want. After that I start studying on exercise and came to know about the importance of muscle mass and healthy cardio health for living best quality of life. I joined gym but was only able to give 3 days a week bcoz of busy working schedule. Even after some basic knowledge of nutrition. I was not able to make good choices because of shortage of time. But i started reading about exercise consistently. I have been working out in gym from 2 years but because of wrist tendon injury and back injury i wasn't consistent. I developed more and more passion for fitness .Then i finally decided to quit my job and started pursuing ace Certification and start from my family i have coached my cousins in healthy weight lose and one of my friend in muscle & strength gain. It's an ongoing process , i lost momentum and experienced obstacles in my fitness journey but i have learned so much from that lapses. Somewhere we all feel frustrated and defeated because our lifestyle is preventing us from being as active as we would like to be. Thanks .
