This course is for the students taking AS exams with Cambridge syllabus. The course covers Chemistry required for taking up the exam. Conceptual understanding is aimed at as the questions asked in the exam are highly analytical. Examples from the prescribed text books are explained. Students are made to solve similar problems so that there will not be surprises in the exams. Problems are picked form the workbook as well to give required practice to the students.
Once syllabus is covered in the manner explained above, a separate course will be started for revising the syllabus, doubt clearance and solving previous examination questions. This makes the students confident in the subject to take up the exam.
Students are encouraged to ask the doubts and they will be clarified. At the same time it is taken care that the students do not get deviated from the objective of preparing oneself for the exam.
Importance is given to conceptual understanding as the nature of the exam demands it. However, memorising a few concepts and facts always helps in quick resolution of problems saving time and giving clarity of thinking. Students' preparation is checked frequently by asking questions and correcting them as required.
