NTA NEET 2019 – Who can Apply?
Candidates can apply for NTA NEET 2019 if they fulfill the required eligibility criteria. The application forms of the ineligible candidates get rejected, so aspirants are advised to through the eligibility criteria of NEET 2019 by NTA listed below.
- The candidates must at least be 17 years in age as on December 31, 2019.
- The age of the candidates must not be more than 25 years in age as on May 7, 2019.
- The candidates in order to apply for NTA NEET 2019 must have qualified in Class 12 or qualifying examination or must be appearing in the same in 2019.
- In the qualifying exam the candidates must have scored an aggregate of 50% (for unreserved), 45% (for Physically Handicapped -PH), and 40% (for reserved including the PH reserved) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- Candidates are required to have studied Biology/Biotechnology with practicals in both Classes 11 and 12. Candidates with Biology as an additional subject in Class 12 alone are not eligible for NEET 2019.
- Candidates are also required to undertake two years of regular and continuous study in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology". This implies that no gap year is permitted between Classes 11 and 12.
NTA NEET 2019 Changes
- NEET 2019 is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- The exam will be held twice a year, in the months of February and May according to NTA NEET 2019 rules.
- The mode of examination of NEET 2019 by NTA will be online only, as a Computer-Based-Test.
- Practice centres will be set up for NEET 2019 by the NTA in rural areas so that everyone will be able to participate in the practice sessions.
- The practice centres of NTA NEET 2019 will be made available free of cost.
- Aspirants of NTA conducted NEET 2019 will be able to appear in one or both the exams though it is not mandatory to appear for both the sessions.
- The NTA NEET 2019 sessions to be held in the months of February and May will comprise eight sittings each and the candidates will be able to book their exam day and slot on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- NEET 2019 by NTA will employ standardization techniques, psychometric methods to equate the scores of both the sessions and consider the better score of the two for admission purposes.
- There has been no mention of changes in the syllabus, fees, or language of NTA conducted NEET 2019.
- NTA NEET 2019 will utilize IT software and encryption that is highly secured to ensure timely delivery of the tests.
- The tests of NEET 2019 by NTA will be highly scientific, developed jointly by the psychometricians and subject matter experts.
