IdentityI am a retired Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in SACS M.A.V.M.M. Engineering College, Madurai. Earlier he retired as Chief Engineer from Central Electricity Authority, the technical wing of Ministry of Power. He is graduated from Madras University and is a post-graduate from IIT Madras. He is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and Member of Indian Society for Technical Education. He is also a Member of Giants Group of Madurai and was the President of the Group during 2011. He has been honored with Eminent Engineer award by the Institution of Engineers (India).
He has a rich experience of more than three decades in the Power Supply Industry in addition to the teaching experience of over eleven years. He joined the Central Power Engineering Service as Class-I Officer, based on the selection through Indian Engineering Services Examination 1972, conducted by the prestigious Union Public Service Commission in first attempt itself.
During his tenure as Central Government Officer in the apex body Central Electricity Authority, he has occupied various positions including Director. His experience covers Design of Hydro-Electric Projects, Generation Planning, Power System Planning, Development, Operation and Control. He was associated in according techno-economic clearance to more than 70 generation projects and 50 transmission schemes, executed under private, central and state sectors. He was also member of various technical committees. He has made notable contribution in drafting the National Electricity Policy and Plan.
He has co-authored two books and authored one book. He has more than 20 papers to his credit, published and presented in national and inter-national journals, conferences, seminars and symposia. He has also delivered a number of guest-lectures in Power Utilities and Industries. He was a Visiting Faculty to National Power Training Institute, Bangalore and Indian Institute for Production Management, Rourkela.
He has visited foreign countries like USA, UK, Sweden and Myanmar apart from the SAARC countries like Nepal and Bhutan for Project investigation and technical discussion.
