I have a PhD in the area of mechanical characterization of building materials. I have practical experience with the testing different construction materials. I can help a student to understand the basic concepts and mechanisms involved during the characterisation of strength of materials. My teaching includes practical examples and analogies that could speed up the learning process. I had the privilege to work as teaching assistant (TA) for the courses Basic Structural Design II (concrete) and Computer Application Laboratory during my post-graduate period. I also had the opportunity to assist the following courses, during my doctoral studies at IITM: Modern Construction Materials (2 times: July-Nov 2014 and July-Nov 2015), Construction Material Lab (July-Nov 2014), Concrete Technology (Jan-May 2015), Building Material and Construction (Jan-May 2017), and NPTEL online course on ‘Modern Construction Materials’(2 times: July-Oct 2016 and July-Oct 2018). During these assistantships, I had to teach few classes, answer queries from the students, set up assignment and exam questions, and grade them. The students will also be taught to use the analysis or design tools, relevant to the subject, and determine the effects of loading on structure.
