FOR PSA:
You cannot prepare for PSA from books. They test you on your qualitative and quantitative reasoning skills and knowledge of grammar. You can not prepare for that in a day or two. Try to improve your thinking skills on the whole. If you learn by rote, have poor understanding skills, PSA will be hard for you, otherwise not. I know someone who didn't prepare for PSA at all and she got 98-99 percentile in all the three categories.
But still, if you really want to prepare, go through old PSA papers and buy any PSA book available in the market. Try to solve that. If nothing else, it'll give you the confidence that you'll be able to do well in that exam.
FOR CBSE CLASS 9 GENERAL SYLLABUS-
NCERT books! Never ever neglect the NCERT text. It should be your Bible till class 12th. You may consult other books but if the text in those books contradicts with NCERT, whatever is written in NCERT is the ultimate truth.
Other reference books (along with NCERT) you may consider-
1) English - BBC publications. Literary companion and practice papers.
2) Maths- R.D. Sharma if you love maths, are good at it and can devote a lot of time on it. If not, then Evergreen 100% success sample papers. You'll score above average marks with these.
3) Science (Phy, Chem, Bio) - Dinesh/Pradeep publications, Evergreen 100% success Sample papers.
Please don't confuse Evergreen Self Study with Evergreen 100% Success Sample Papers. These are different.
And for rests of the subjects, NCERT is more than enough. You should know each and every word of your NCERT textbook in all your subjects. NCERT first, other books later.
Good luck for class 9! Hope you get a great CGPA. :-)
