A non-inertial reference frame is a frame of reference that is undergoing acceleration with respect to an inertial frame. The laws of motion in non-inertial frames do not take the simple form they do in inertial frames, and the laws vary from frame to frame depending on the acceleration. To explain the motion of bodies entirely within the viewpoint of non-inertial reference frames, fictitious forces (also called pseudo-forces) must be introduced to account for the observed motion, such as the Coriolis force or the centrifugal force, as derived from the acceleration of the non-inertial frame. That's why we can't apply equation of motion directly in non inertial frame. read less

Love for sharing knowledge

Equation of motion is valid only on an inertial frame of reference . If your frame of reference is also accelerating or decelerating laws of motion do not hold .

Equation of motion was derived for inertial frame i.e a frame which is not accelerating w.r.t to the frame of observation. So to apply equation of motion in non-inertial frame i.e a frame which accelerates w.r.t to the frame of observation , we apply the concept of pseudo force to counteract the acceleration...

Equation of motion is only applicable to inertial frames. Non inertial frames donor ply to it
