Prana School of Dance

The dhandapani sisters - sandhya dhandapani and meera shree dhandapani are disciples of guru vidushi smt.Mrudula rai and founders of prānā school of dance. They have been learning bharatanatyam for over 18 years. They have been teaching under their guru for around 6 years now. As part of snn, they have performed in dance festivals in and around india. They have had the opportunity to offer solo recitals at ‘kalaarpanam 2022’, conducted by the sangraha cultural trust. As a part of ‘ilamaiyil thiramai 2022’, they were selected to perform at the prestigious sri krishna gana sabha. Besides, they have performed in and around coimbatore and mettupalayam under the banner of prānā. Meera's recent accolades include performance at the raindrops festival 2022, organized by samved society, mumbai, winner of kalavedi dance competition at coimbatore, episode winner of jaya tv’s ‘thakadhimi thakajonu’, she was one if the finalists of yuva nrithyotsava, national level competition. As a part of snn. Troupe, she has performance at scotland for the 'azadi ka amrit mahotsav' initiative organized by the iccr and g20 summit held at bangalore in february 2023. She is the topper of level 6 yathnam exam conducted by prayathnam and was awarded the title "Bharathakalamani" . She has completed her grade certificate program [viii grade] In bharatanatyam from annamalai university and completed pgdm in Bharatanatyam. She is also a 'b' graded artist with doordarshan. Sandhya has completed lateral level 1 of prayathnam exams with distinction and has emerged as a topper with the title ‘yathna prathibha'. Both the sisters were a part of the 75th republic day parade 2024 at new delhi.
