Sowmia I.

Hello! I'm Sowmia, a passionate Teacher for Special Children and Adults, dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with diverse special needs. My journey in special education began at C.S.I Balar Gnana Illam in Salem, where, from 2015 to 2017, I had the privilege of providing tailored education and holistic care to 50 special children and 40 adults.

During those years, I poured my heart into fostering growth, empowerment, and inclusivity among my students. Whether it was developing personalized education plans, guiding behaviour management strategies, or simply lending a listening ear, I was committed to ensuring that each individual felt valued and supported.

My journey continued at C.S.I Keremehas in Coimbatore from 2017 to 2020, where I continued my mission of personalized care and education, focusing on 40 adults with diverse special needs. I brought a unique approach to my work, combining traditional teaching methods with innovative strategies, to nurture their development, independence, and overall well-being. Through my dedication, I aimed to help them realize their potential and thrive in their unique journeys.

In addition to my hands-on experience, I pursued further education to deepen my knowledge and skills. I earned a Diploma in Special Education from C.S.I Balar Gnana Illam, which provided me with a solid foundation in special education principles and practices. I also completed an MBA in General from Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore, which enhanced my leadership and management skills. These academic achievements, coupled with my practical experience, have equipped me with a well-rounded understanding of the field and a passion for continuous growth.

I'm particularly proud of my project on inclusive education for special children, where I explored ways to create more inclusive learning environments. Additionally, I've been actively involved in organizing special children's shows and participating in various events and competitions celebrating their talents. Winning titles like Best Special Teacher in 2017 and Best Special Children Show Organizer in 2019 has been incredibly humbling and rewarding.

With fluency in Tamil and English, along with proficiency in Malayalam, I'm excited to continue advocating for inclusivity, equity, and excellence in education for all individuals with special needs.
