• Prefer one on one sessions
• Do ask for theory and practical sessions.
• Join under an instructor/institution who have a lesson plan though you are learning an art. So there will be a goal to achieve in every session, and that will help both instructor and the student not to lag the class.
• Make It a habit to keep a record (written notes ) of every class, so if you forget the step or take a break, this can help you in your further learning. And also not to miss any class. Request for compensation classes if the courses are missed.
• Do regular practice and try to follow the lesson plan of the mentor. Keep a video recording of your practice session for a self-assessment and keep a graph of your learning.
• Make it a conscious effort of not learning anything new until you clear the doubt and thorough with the step.
