As far as my experience of teaching is concerned it not only include how much i have tought others it also include how much i have learnt my self in the process of working with highly professional people and teaching people from a rookie to pro level . What i preffer teaching my students is the basics . Thats what i have learnt and that is the secret sauce i have also found some drills and exercises that helped me understanding the concept of sound more .
