Let, z1= a+ ib and z2= c+ id. Now, we have to prove that, Re(z1z2)= Re z1 Re z2 - Im z1 I'm z2 . Now, z1z2= (a+ ib)(c+ id)= ac+ iad+ ibc+ i2bd = ac+ i(ad+ bc)+ (-1) bd = (ac- bd) + i(ad+ bc) So, this implies that L.H.S. i.e. Re(z1z2)= ac- bd . Now, as Re z1= a and... ...more
