My first exposure to teaching was during my college exams when my friends and I would study together and I was able to pick up their doubts and simplify things for them. My notes had the impression of being comprehensive and useful for the exams so much so that one of my teachers still has my notebook.

From my personal experience, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to take tuitions no matter if your parents are working or you have a stay-at-home parent.
Have a routine, stick to it and a student should have that consciousness in them to do well in exams. But if you feel you are facing troubles in certain topics or a subject, there's no harm in getting some guidance and save time.
All the best! :)

I think its one of the most relatable situations, a science student goes through in his life.
What I would suggest you is that nobody can make that choice for you. If you aren't sure of the obvious choice of getting into engineering, then I'd say explore your mind and interests. The good thing is you can opt for sociology, psychology, biotechnology or absolutely anything after class 12th. You could even start preparing for the UPSC exam pretty early on if you find your interest there.
While you do that, please make sure that you score good percentage in your board exams( I'm not saying that's the only way to do it but it will only help you exercise more options if need be).
Don't worry about the options, there are plenty. With your preparations for board exams, find which subject interests you enough to pursue as a career option and the future prospects related to it.
Wishing you luck for your future endeavours. All the best! :)
