Amp modeling replicates guitar amplifier sounds digitally, while cab simulation mimics the characteristics of different speaker cabinets. They allow for versatile and convenient recording by emulating various amp and speaker setups without the need for physical equipment. you can easily experiment with different amps available to you with different cabinate speakers and mics , you also have ability to position your mic differently. all in one software without need of buying all amps and cabinates , all mics and cables, attaching and detaching cables physically.

its a personal preference , most of my students found that thin picks are better for them. a thin plectrum will bend when you will be strumming. for me thin picks are better because i like the percussive sound of thin picks over harder ones. also it makes it easier for me to strum at high speed. its just a personal choice, you can try both and then decide which suits you.

there is no age for starting learning guitar. a 3 year old kid can learn by listening to guitar. when the student gets old enough to hold a small guitar then he or she can start learning and applying techniques . but if you want to hire a tutor for teaching then you kid should be atleast 6+ years old. before 6 they should learn it by just playing and having fun with it like a toy.
