This is the right time to make a decision what career to pursue after your MBA if you have not already done that at the time of Choosing MBA.
When you have an interest in Marketing and do NOT want to do field work much Digital Marketing may be a good choice.
If things like analysis & implementation, data crunching, copyrighting, web user experience attract you then Digital Marketing is right for you.
Even if you do not want to pursue a full-time career as a Digital Marketing Professional, Knowledge of the same will help you better manage your team and open up more avenues for lead generation that you can follow up for conversions.
Even if you do not want a job and plan your own start-up Digital Marketing will be your strong asset.
Lastly, with digital marketing and MBA degree you can get a good job is any sector possible. It makes your sector independent. If you can sell, Sir, you are welcome everywhere.

You would not need forced/bribed placement if you have a strong understanding of Digital Marketing and if you have hands-on experience on real-life projects. At any SEO/PPC/Digital Marketing job interview, the employers will ask you to show results you have achieved. No one is interested in what certificate you hold. When it comes to marketing, it is all about results. So learn your stuff well, implement them in a project and showcase it at an interview and the job is yours.

Your confusion can be best addressed by asking yourself what you are good at and which of the career options can best utilize the skills you are good at. That way you will have a satisfying career and not something that you bite into for the sake of job security.
So, are you good at talking to people and negotiating deals? Are you good at research and analysis? Do you have a flair for writing? Are you good at using tools to achieve objectives? Identify you inherent skill. Then decide whether you seek adventure and challenges in marketing or want a peaceful desk job/operations job? This I believe will help you clear your confusion.
When I completed my Engineering Degree, I had a similar dilemma. I was split between VLSI job and Web Technologies Start-up. I made my decision. I also hope you make your decision. No decision is right at the beginning, you can always make it right.
