I have been a yoga teacher for the past 8 years in which major portion i have spend in the ashram in Delhi teaching various types of classes for various age groups and strengths. I am interested in overall fitness of a person both physically and mentally which helps an individual to be productivity and still maintain health throughout the day. Breath is a path to meditation. A guide for the mind to get into the state of thoughtlessness.

Yes it can. Addiction happens to a person as an escape mechanism for loneliness. If a person cultivate a habit to be comfortable with his own existance without external means he will overcome addiction. Better done with a teacher during the initial phase.

Meditation effects the number of thoughts and the depth of thoughts of a person. Slowly as the thoughts become nil so does the existence of time and space will change for the person. That is how meditation effects the time perception.

Meditation effects the breathing pattern of a person the deeper a person gets into meditation the breath will become lighter and lighter. This change in the breathing pattern will activate the hipothalamus of the brain to change its mode from fight or flight mode to rest and nurture mode.

Meditation effects the production of endocrine glands in the body. Especially as it tends to reduce the stress it reduces the cortisol levels in the brain which effects the androgen production in the body. Also meditation improves healthy dopamine production which makes a person feel better and motivated.... ...more

Especially as it tends to reduce the stress it reduces the cortisol levels in the brain which effects the androgen production in the body.

Also meditation improves healthy dopamine production which makes a person feel better and motivated. This phenomenon effects the body.

So meditation as a top down mechanism effects the way the brain function which reflects in a persons hormone profile.
