I believe that science can be well integrated with mathematical concepts and countering the myth for biology being a subject to be mugged up.
A small example - Understanding the composition of extra cellular fluid in our body, the only fact we need to know is that life has originated from sea. The earliest signs of life, which obviously were single cells originated in sea water, upon evolution must have gathered together to form multicellular organisations, hence the space between the two cells has to be sea water. Now as we all know that sea water has electrolytes and is particularly rich in NaCl, the same holds true for extra cellular fluid.It also contains more of Na and less of K. There is no need to mug up whether sodium is high in extra cellular fluid or intra cellular fluid.
A lot more concepts can make biology really easy and conceptual.
