More over Final year is not a good time to prepare for GRE as you would be engaged with various collage activities plus assignments etc. Also to apply for next fall you should have your GRE scores ready by this December. Also you would be having a time to retake if you want to do so to improve your score. Hence this is the best time to start your preparations. read less

Before deciding that, please keep in mind that the GRE scores are valid for only 5 years starting from the day of your exam. My suggestion would be to consider taking the exam after your 3rd year towards the end of your vacation

Start Now! I agree with what Saumya has written. If you spend 4-8 hours. a week and take periodic mock GREs then you can easily score 320+ if you take the final GRE in final year. But please keep in mind the costs involved and the application process to courses and colleges.
