(a) The law that is followed by balancing a chemical equation is the law of conservation of mass. This law states that matter cannot be created or destroyed in a chemical reaction. In other words, the total mass of the reactants must be equal to the total mass of the products. Therefore, when balancing a chemical equation, the number of atoms of each element on the reactant side must be equal to the number of atoms of the same element on the product side.
(b) The reaction is already balanced as you can see th enumber of atoms on both the sides are equal. Still if you want to add coefficients, then it can be done in this way.
