it takes minimum 5 years to get to a proper body language in classical dance. But in western you can get it within an year. also easily learnt and easily taught especially songs. in classical it takes 3 years to do basic songs. and seeing that parents started asking gurus to make their children perform as soon as they join...as the same thing is happning in western dance.

It would help if you introduced both western and classical for your kid as he is of the right age to start any dance form. If possible, make him learn kalarippayattu, an ancient fighting art form that gives the kid a different and unique attribute in his circle and people around you. not many know this art form. So he who knows he might be famous one day.
