IELTS has separate writing tests for Academic and General Training.

Academic:

Task 1 - Report writing : write a report based on a diagram, graph, chart, Minimum word count 150

Task 2 - Essay writing on a topic suitable for a general audience, minimum word count 250

Time limit: 60 minutes in total                   

Important Note:

Task 2 is worth twice the marks of task 1, which means task 2 is worth approximately 66% of the total marks.
