Yes it is possible without any tuition or guidance Too !!
I got 86% in 12 CBSE BOARD EXAM in 2013 and without coaching or tuition .
Here some points which I followed :-
• Revised every subject at least thrice
• Sovle past years papers min 5yrs -max 10 yes
• Pay very attentions to your WRITTING SKILLS or Answer Writing
• Attempt some model/mock test papers for improving writing speed ESPECIALLY THE OFFICIAL SAMPLE PAPER ISSUIED BY CBSE

In case you want to know the difference b/w tuition & coaching .. Which one to choose ??
Ans :- Tuition is always better than coaching
Because :-
• 1-on-1 dialogue is better than Monologue (its like watching a TV without any feedback)
• less students - less unnessary talking - less(or No) wastage of time ,money & Effort
• tutor can interact with student and even an average student can be turn into diamond.
• tutor can also help with WRITING SKILLS which is completly absent in Coaching Centre.

It is very much possible if your basics are very strong and you are completely thorough with all the topics of 11th std, you need to capitalise on that and start preparaing seriously from the very beginning of your 12th std. There are many free resources available online as well, so you could go through them and learn really well.
Now, to talk about all the problems one could face by self preparation:
1. Your teachers in schools have to be exceptional and teach everything in detail, which is highly unlikely since they are always worried about completion of portions on time.
2. If you have a particular doubt, you will hav to watch videos or read lessons online thereby wasting a lot of time. Even if you post your doubt as a question on an online forum, you will have to check every now and then to see if you received your answer. again, waste of time.
3. Learning and understanding something without deep analysis is again dangerous for you, especially in physics where there are lot of varitaions or slight changes according to each condition.
Its upto you to decide now. All the best.

You must have heard a proverb " Practice makes a man perfect" so you must practice all the sample papers and revise the subject so that you are thorough with it, also you should practice the sample papers by alloting time so that you are able to touch all the questions in the given time frame which will help you in actual exam.

It is impossible. Shocked to see this answer.
The word impossible says I'm possible.
Hence, scoring 90% plus is not at all a problem.
Firstly, you need to be strong in basics and also must have good understanding of the concepts in physics and chemistry. In case of mathematics, good and consistent practice is very important. Write down formulas and important derivations in another book and hence go through them at the time of examination. Also, make sure that you complete studying the syllabus 1 month before the exams and hence have sufficient time for revision.
Finally attend the exam with peace of mind and complete the exam with 20 mins remaining so that enough time is left for revision of the paper.
