Usually, kids are super enthusiastic during this age, and it isn't easy to make them learn something. But you could always make the mundane work exciting with various things. Involve things with the work that he loves. It can be his favourite food, cartoon or something.
For example, make him his favourite snack after work or watch his favourite cartoon with him. Eventually, he will realise that hardwork will lead to good things.
