Transmission is the loss of power or voltage of a transmitted wave or current in passing along a transmission line or path or through a circuit device.
where as, distribution is the loss of power or voltage, which occur between the transmission of wave or current from a substation to the customer's house.
Transmission Line helps in the movement of electricity from a power plant or power station to the various substations whereas the distribution line carries electricity from the substation to the consumer's end. i.e, to the residential and commercial customers.
These lossess can be reduced by: -
1. Replacing incorrectly sized transformers,
2. Improving the connection quality of conductors (power lines), and
3. Increasing the availability of reactive power by installing capacitor banks along transmission lines.
