I am pursuing graduation in psychology from IGNOU and have completed my Diploma in E.C.E.Since the past year, when I started my journey as a tutor, I have taught many students till now. As a child, I always wanted to be an English tutor, so I took a certification course in Advanced Communication Mastery in English from Britfort Academy. My study in psychology and certificate course in English has helped me find the right way to motivate my students to speak English.
Students coming from various backgrounds have different levels of understanding and they also have different vocabularies. While some students know basic English, many do not know what the alphabets are. Again, some learners want to improve their English speaking skills. So that is why I believe spoken English training should be student-centric and not curriculum-based.
Following a particular pattern might restrict a student from evolving. If someone belonging to a family where no one can speak English is put in a group where the others have a basic understanding of the language, that student might not fit well and might not learn what is required. So it is always preferred to customize a lesson based on the requirements of the students.
I always analyze the student's primary requirements and then jot down a plan on how to proceed with the learning procedure. In my experience, I have found that students learn fast when they can see what they are learning. So I like to follow online classes where I can show them the objects or help them understand a concept while delivering the lessons.
