Bilal Khan Salonvi born in the family of an illustrious
Gwalior Gharana,he is a direct decendant of Miyan Tansen,has taken his taalim firstly from Ustad Aslam Khan and is eventually pursuing it from Pandit Samar Saha of Banaras Gharana.He has also taken his taalim from his great Grandfather Padma Bhushan Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan, the doyen of Gwalior Gharana. He has performed in many conferences like Sangeet Piyasi (Kolkata), Bongiyo Sangeet Parishad Sangeet Mela (Kolkata), Ganga Maha Utsav (Banaras),Raj Bhavan (Agartala), Prayag Sangeet Samiti (Allahabad) Sangeet Natak Academy National programme in (Delhi),Rashtrapati bhavan (New Delhi), and given performances in Spic Macay and many more concerts all across India with renowned artists like Padma Bhushan Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan,Smt.Kavita Krishnamurthy(the famous playback singer in bollywood),Bandish Nawaz Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan, Ustad Rashid Khan, the Ghazal Maestro Ghulam Ali,Padma Vibhushan Smt.Girja Devi,Pandit Narasinhalu Vadavati(the famous clarinet player), Begum Farida Khanam .And also some of his CD’s has been launched with his great Grand Father Padma Bhushan Ustad Abdul Rashid Khan known as ‘RASAN PIYA’. And presently he is working very hard to continue the lineage of his Gharana.And working as a Tabla Accompanist in ITC SANGEET RESEARCH ACADEMY in KOLKATA.
Now he is a faculty member of T.F.N. SHAKHRI BEGUM MEMORIAL TRUST (Ustad Rashid Khan's Academy)
Right now he is managing Indian Film Academy also

Bilal is also an ardent supporter and follower of Indian classical music and actively promotes the same across various platforms in the country, an act to showcase the love and support for Indian classical music.
