The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that the state of entropy of the entire universe, as an isolated system, will always increase over time. The second law also states that the changes in the entropy in the universe can never be negative.

One of the limitations of the second law of thermodynamics is that the entropy of the system must always remain the same or increase, in a closed system. However, creating a truly closed system is nearly impossible, so it is sometimes hard to apply to a natural system.

Work in thermodynamics is the energy transferred from one thermodynamic system into another thermodynamic system, often a transfer from heat energy to another form of energy. There are many different kinds of thermodynamic processes, including adiabatic, isobaric, isochoric, and isothermal.

There are four laws of thermodynamics :-

1) First law of thermodynamics:- It states that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, but it can be changed from one form to another.

2) Second law of thermodynamics:- It states that the entropy in an isolated system always increases.

3) Third law of thermodynamics:- It states that the entropy of a system approaches a constant value as the temperature approaches absolute zero.

4) Zeroth law of thermodynamics:- It states that if two bodies are individually in equilibrium with a separate third body, then the first two bodies are also in thermal equilibrium with each other.
