I have played with musicians across India over a span of 10 years. I have played with a lot of rock bands and have released a lot of music too. What vocal music is allowed to be transposed and what is not? Why?

You can transpose any music be it vocal or instrumental. It's just that if the transposition is happening in a vocal range which is not suitable be it higher or lower in pitch, then there's no point in transposing the music.
