First you'll need start learning to code in python and brush up your mathematics. Then have some practice of coding and dive into Data Structures and Algorithms. One you are done with that you should keep coding and leanr Data Analytics. Like finding the biggest value in a list if all of them are bigger than 13 billion. That's a tough task. You'll also need to learn all the interview questions of your core branch in case the HR asks.
I have helped more than 10 people personally to move from core like mech and electrical to get into Web Dev jobs and Python SWE. Let me know if you are interested.
