Fortunately, given your son's age, there are a lot of methods that you can use to improve his patience! Children tend to be distracted very quickly and have a tough time paying attention to anyone's activity (especially if it is school).

Here are a few methods you can use to help your son improve his patient and support yourself in teaching him: 

1. Create a schedule that he can follow daily: Include things like studying, playing, watching tv, homework etc. 
2. Give him more time than you think he would need: If you think he should be able to finish this task in 30 mins, allot 45. Slowly as he becomes more compliant, you can reduce the "extra time." 
3. Please make a list of tasks and share it with him: Granted that he is only a child, involving him in organizing and scheduling his day will give him a sense of interest and a responsibility to complete and achieve the tasks he has helped chart out. 
4. Break tasks down: It is evident that your son has a problem with sitting and completing tasks for an extended period; breaking those tasks down into smaller chunks will enable you to be more efficient and, at the same time, not stress your son out. 
5. Create an environment with the least amount of distractions: When you are helping your son complete his tasks, make sure that you are also focused on helping him and not going on your phone or multi-tasking.
6. Make each task as enjoyable as possible.
7. Set up a fair reward system: A reward can be anything, from allowing him to watch tv or playing with his favourite toy/game after completing a task. The reward system is tricky to manage as, over time, children start to take it for granted! Please make sure you are in control and that he knows what he needs to do to do his preferred activities.
