Position vector gives the direction of your body or object moving but only at a particular point wrt origin.
But displacement vector gives the direction from one position to another. In this case, the reference position 
doesn't matter.
You can easily understand it from this figure.
AB is the displacement vector. If O is the origin, then OA represents the position vector.
