I am not going to lie. I haven't always wanted to be in education. It wasn't until I was a sophomore in high school that I realised that teaching was something I was interested in. I have been teaching students from a rural area from past two years. Basically, I aim to obtain a position in different education teaching that will allow me to use my intense passion for student development coupled with skills and experience that will enable me to make a difference in their learning. My first teaching experience taught me a lot about what it means to be a teacher and a lot about myself, as a future educator. For example, I always knew that coming up with lesson plans was not easy, so I am glad that I was able to have this experience to prepare me for it in the future. I also learned that I do not have a good sense of time when I am teaching, so I now know to make sure to make a schedule of what will be done at that time. This experience changed me as a teacher. I came to understand that students are people who have feelings and who don't want to feel cornered. They want to learn, but they also want to contact as if they have some control over themselves. Though elementary education is not what I am majoring in, this teaching experience gave me a view of what it is that I could potentially be doing a few years from now, and I am more than excited to explore this fantastic field that is education.
