Creating a custom T-code in SAP involves defining a transaction and assigning it to a specific task or program that you want to access more easily. Here are the general steps to create a custom T-code in SAP:

  1. Define the Task or Program:

    • First, identify the specific task or program that you want to access using the custom T-code. This could be a report, a specific transaction, or a custom-developed program.
  2. Create a Transaction Code (T-code):

    • Transaction codes are defined in the Transaction Code Repository (TCR). To create a custom T-code, use transaction code SE93.
  3. Specify the T-code Details:

    • In transaction SE93, enter the desired custom T-code and provide the following details:
      • Transaction Code: Enter the custom T-code you want to create.
      • Short Text: Provide a short description of the task or program associated with the T-code.
      • Type: Select the appropriate type, such as "Transaction with parameters" for most cases.
      • Program: Enter the program name, report name, or transaction code associated with the task or program you want to access.
      • Screen Number: If the program requires specific screen input, specify the screen number.
      • Parameter ID: If the program expects specific parameters, enter the Parameter ID.
      • Skip Initial Screen: Check this option if you want to skip the initial screen when executing the T-code.
  4. Save and Generate:

    • Once you've entered the details, click the "Save" button. SAP will automatically generate a function module for your custom T-code. The function module will be named "Z_<Your T-code>".
  5. Assign Authorizations:

    • After creating the custom T-code, you should assign appropriate authorizations to users or roles to ensure they can execute the T-code.
  6. Testing:

    • Before making the custom T-code available to users in a productive environment, thoroughly test it to ensure it performs the intended task or program correctly. You can execute the T-code in a testing or development environment.
  7. Transport to Production:

    • If you're working in a SAP system landscape with multiple environments (e.g., development, quality assurance, production), make sure to transport the custom T-code to the production environment through a transport request.
  8. Maintain Documentation:

    • It's important to maintain documentation about the custom T-code, its purpose, and how it should be used. This documentation is valuable for both administrators and end-users.

Creating a custom T-code allows you to streamline access to specific tasks or programs, making it more convenient for users to execute their responsibilities within the SAP system. However, it's important to follow SAP best practices and consider security and testing procedures when creating and deploying custom T-codes.
