Six Sigma is a process that aims to complete a process by eliminating defects. For this process DMAIC phases are used starting from defining a phase to controlling it. It covers the following topics:

Define:
· Define the Customer, their Critical to Quality (CTQ) issues, and the Core Business Process involved.
· Define project boundaries the stop and start of the process
· Define who customers are, what their requirements are for products and services, and what their expectations are
Measure:
· Measure the performance of the Core Business Process involved.
· Develop a data collection plan for the process
· Collect data from many sources for determining types of defects and metrics

· Analyze the data collected and process map to determine defects

Eligibility
To do a Six sigma certification at a green belt level, you don’t require any particular qualifications since the most fundamental concepts like stats are explained in the course itself.
But if you have some background knowledge in stats that will certainly be an added advantage. There are no prerequisites for undertaking the course.
The only thing needed is three years of work experience in one or more areas of Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge. Full time work experience is needed. Part time work experience holders are not eligible for this training.
Exams and Certifications
After completing the training program, you can apply for exam conducted by IASSC. After clearing exam you will be awarded by Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
It is of 3 hour exam with 100 questions. 20 multiple choice questions are there from each major section. Candidates need to achieve minimum of 385 points out of 500 points.
