Bitter fact is that we do not have the technology in HINDI, so forcibly we have to study in English, and later stages if you wanna become social among multinationals Or even with Indian from different states...we need to talk in an International language...which is ONLY English....and at last.....we can present ourselves in English language better than mother tongue....It is hence proven a bitter fact.

Nice question! English is a "Lingua Franca" means it the window to the outside world. Then English is our official language in our country. Since the globalisation takes place English plays a prominent role in our country. Further, the emergence of MNC's offering humpty number of job opportunities who speak and write English fluently. People have to speak English with their clients to develop the company since the clients may be from various parts of the world. So it is important for our country people to learn it properly to be placed in a secured and well paid jobs. This is role of English in our country.

Spoken English has taken a lot of precedence compared to an earlier time in India. The world is shrinking and interactions are happening at rapid rate across countries. Take the IT industry for example; if one was tech savvy then they were hired few years ago. But now, spoken English, soft skills are a minimum criteria for hiring.

Well frankly speaking English has become part and parcel of our lives these days..One gets judged not by his education level but its through how fluent he can converse in english.Britishers had spent few years in our country but their native language english will make us it's slaves for ever.So its very important in order to achieve success,fame and respect one has to be a fluent english speaker.
