TYPES OF BUILDINGS
Based on the purpose served by buildings, they may be classified into various types as follow
(i)Residential Building: These are meant for dwelling purpose. Bungalows, flats, cottages huts, hostels etc. are all residential buildings.
(ii) Educational Building: These are meant for running schools and colleges, training institutions, libraries, university etc.
(iii) Institutional Building: These are buildings meant for hospitals, sanitoria. Welfare centres, orphanages etc.
(iv) Assembly Building: These are buildings meant for assembly of a large number of people. They may be meant for religious gathering, exhibitions, temples, churches mosques, auditorium etc.
(v) Business Buildings: These buildings are meant for running a business. Banks, halls, courthouses etc. are in this category
(vi) Industrial Building: These are buildings which accommodate plants and machine refineries, power plants etc.
(vii) Storage Building: These may be godowns. They are buildings to store goods and prod Warehouses, and cold storage is also storage buildings.
