Radhakrishna is an ambassador for the music tradition (Maihar) famous all over the world because of its brilliant masters, especially the great sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar and the equally brilliant sarod maestro Ali Akbar Khan. It has been a privilege for an ordinary person like me to have experienced some of this through his authentic and generous friendship and guidance. His teaching methods are painstaking and individual-oriented, and he openly demonstrates every little part of the art, its finer points, its hidden nuances. Of course, we are left wonder-struck at the beauty and skill of his technique, and the sounds it produces. He teaches for the sheer joy of it, and never for any commercial advantage. Especially for Bangalore, it is a great boon that such a dedicated and skillful member of this great school of classical music is available and willing to spend time with the aspirant. "

"Pandit Radhakrishna Ji is an eminent Sitar player in his own right. Truly a gem of a performer, guruji's methodologies of teaching are in-depth covering fundamentals to the core of the subject. Even though I was not well versed with the basics of Hindustani Classical music, guruji was able to help me understand the do and don'ts during my initial days of training. From giving theoretical awareness of renowned sitar players of India to detailed explanations of the anatomy of the instrument and so on, Pandit Ji is a very dedicated soul with no compromise in original guru-shishya traditions. The best thing about him is that he always strives for perfection and improvement in every student. It has truly been a spiritual experience whenever I play and learn along with my guruji. Starting from selecting the sitar for my child, teaching him all techniques and detail raga and rhythm, he patiently holds hand even to tune n tie the sitar. Guruji is so comfortable even in online classes that my child had the same feelings as he has in his offline class. Guruji constantly encourages his students to listen to doyens of maihar gharana and then discusses their techniques to enrich the musical knowledge of the learner. We have a gurukul feeling at his house with his family as all of them are so humble and so welcoming. We are grateful to the allmighty that we got a true guru for my music enthusiast child. "My son who is 13yrs old was in search of a guru and not a teacher for his sitar talim and his journey to find his guru ends at the feet of his beloved guruji pt.Radhakrishna. Guruji is an excellent human being above all and is a true guru which is very hard to find in today's world. His talim is just like having being trained in a gurukul. With immense patience and care he satisfies all the inquisitiveness of the child towards this tough indian string instrument. Right from tuning the sitar,tie the strings ,the difficult techniques and minute details of each raga , guruji takes his student to another world.Encouraging his students to listen to other doyens of maihaar gharana as well as others is his way to improve the listening and analysing skill. "Being fourteen, I'm currently Sir's youngest student. Becoming his student is a really great thing for me as he usually doesn't teach beginners. Having met his inspiring self for the first time on fifth of November 2016; I immediately knew that I was seeking guidance from an exceptionally talented and a very straightforward guru. I'm very fortunate to have a teacher who sets the bars high and yet makes you believe that you can reach it. When I started learning the Sitar from Sir ; I would never have imagined learning to play the things I play today - in just a span of five months. Being a schoolgirl, I find it different when a teacher breaks the convention of saying ' you're too young to learn this' or 'this comes in your next year's syllabus'. But Sir never sets an age limit. If you are capable of learning; there is no limit to what you can learn from him. "

"I love music & also been involved with singing right from my childhood days. Somewhere i was also fascinated by the magical tone of sitar. Eager to learn the same I searched for a good Sitar Guru. Found a few. Heard a few. Met a few. But wasn't convincing till I met my guru. Someone has said "Music is happiness" I would like to add some more to it "Music is supreme Bliss when a right chord strikes, right tone resonates and the resulting melody generates a harmony of oneness with the nature". Well to orchestrate this Melodical Bliss you need to be either God gifted or have the perseverance to master the art that can consume one's entire lifetime. The dedication of his art of playing the Sitar for many decades together, speaks the volumes of his perseverance. One of the best sitar player, direct disciple of Pt.RaviShankar and finest guru in his teachings. When we listen to the instrument we happen to enjoy the music. But its only when we Listen & start producing the same sound, we are aware of so many tiny things that's involved in beautifying the ghat. I like the way sir explaining every detail of such harkatein what he plays,making us realize & appreciate the complexity behind it. Lots a new stuff to learn & practice needed in each class, as Sir mentions 'There is no Shortcut'! Above all he's down to earth person with a great sense of humor. Very sweet, joyful & kind to everyone. Has a lot of appetite to food & music! wish you & your fly happy & blessed life, feels proud & privileged to be guided by you. "

Sarod Classes

"I have known Radha for over 20 years both as a friend and a music guru. I am a sarod player , having undergone initial training on the sarod in the Maihar style from Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and Ustadn Aashish Khan. After a gap of several years where I did not play the sarod much, I was inspired to get back to the instrument seriously by Radha who asked me to come and start learning from him. This was an important moment in my musical life and for the past several years I have been taking lessons from Radha and getting back to playing the sarod regularly. Since Radha is also a sitarist who plays in the Maihar style, it was a very seamless transition for me since I was able to understand the method and styles used. Radha is able to teach a person of any ability and make sure that the student is constantly challenged. Inspire of being a sitarist, Radha has a very good understanding of the sarod and tailors his classes to get the most out of the instrument. He is extremely knowledgeable both due to his own personal experience in performing and also from his close interactions with the master Pandit Ravi Shankar and his other students. Radha is very encouraging and provides great feedback. He also is very generous with his time and urges me to come for more classes even during the week. I got a second lease on my musical life through Radha and will be eternally grateful to him for that and look forward to many more years of learning from him. "
