I will say, Indian classical. It is the root of learning. If we start with Indian classical, we can achieve any music like western, Bollywood. But also it depends on your passion and interest.
The difference between them is the pattern. Carnatic is all about the southern style of India, and Indian classical is from the northern part of India.
