This concept belong to chemistry.so let's understand from the basics see-
Atoms have to complete their outermost shell with eight no. of electrons which we called as the octet rule. So to make these atom losses, its extra no. of electron and other atom gains this electron to complete its octet.
In this way, the atom which is losing electrons (generally they are Metals) gained positive charge, and the atom gains the electron gets a Negative charge(usually they are Non-Metals).
So there are two types of Ions- 1. Cation(positive charge) 2. Anion (Negative charge)
For example:- Sodium (Na)11 atomic number, so its electronic configuration is- 2,8,1.
So, it has one extra electron in the outermost shell, so it donates one electron.
Chlorine (Cl)17 atomic no. So its electronic configuration is - 2,8,7 as it has 7 electrons in the outermost shell it needs 1 electron which can be taken from sodium.so these two atoms become Ions in this process.
Na+(cations) , Cl-(Anions)

Yes, Abhishree, you can score excellent marks during the lockdown. Just by ensuring that you are taking this time positively, though is it quite challenging, but this is the best key to be used in this pandemic situation. Also, make sure you have someone expert in the subject you are looking for!!
Stay positive and calm you will surely do good with your score!!
