My recommendation would be to look for start-ups. Would you please not go for big names/firms as they have many restrictions in hiring their candidates like relevant experience, tier 1 college qualification etc.? Start-ups look for more diverse candidates and creativity as they are evolving.
Also, the application process is cumbersome. You'll have to spend time going to their careers page, look for the right opening, find the proper referral on LinkedIn. Always apply via the careers page or mail directly to HR. Job portals do provide a way, but HR usually refer to these as their last resort.
