Usually hypertension is defined as blood pressure above 140/90, and is considered severe if the pressure is above 180/120.
 
Hypertension is a chronic disease that has become a public health challenge and shortens the lives of many people around the world . It is considered to be an important risk factor for cardiovascular disease, stroke, and kidney disease , as well as the most common risk factor for death and the main cause of disability worldwide.
 
Their are 5 different Asnas in which it can help in High Blood Pressure:- 
  1. Uttanasana (Standing forward bend pose) ...
  2. Viparita Karani (Legs-up-the-wall pose) ...
  3. Adho mukha svanasana (Downward-facing dog pose) ...
  4. Pashchimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend Pose) ...
  5. Setu Bandhasana (Bridge pose)

According to me it gives more benefits to human body . If we do on daily bases it can reduce the risk of chronic diseases happening. Yoga is of many kinds it is derived from Sanskrit Word.
